Here’s a little tip I wanted to share that makes it a little easier to track tweets on Twitter that reference your username (says @yourusername anywhere in the message).
1. First, go to http://search.twitter.com/advanced
2. Look for the people section, and in the referencing person box type your username (see picture above).
3. Click search and you will see a list of a tweets which mention @yourusername.
4. Now click the link that says “Feed for this query”
5. If you look to the column on the left, you’ll see a little link that says “Subscribe in Mail.” Click on it.
6. If you look in Mail, in the RSS section, if you hover your mouse over the arrow that points up, the tittle of the tweet feed will change to “Show in Inbox.” Click on this and now all tweets referencing your twitter username will appear in your Mail inbox. You’ll also get the usual red number in the mail icon when someone replies to your Tweets.
This probably will be pretty annoying to power Twitter users, but for us regular folks it’s pretty handy.
