Steve Job’s Replacement

by Brian on 1/7/2009

Even with all of Steve Job’s health issues, I do not understand why people believe that Apple will be doomed if Steve Jobs hits the bucket.  There is an obvious replacement:

Apple did have a co-founder, and despite what everyone believes, he’s still on Apple’s payroll and him and Steve Jobs have always been good friends (see his biography). In the above photo, Woz is demoing a Axiotron, hacked MacBook turned into a Tablet PC.  I’m not exactly sure what Woz’s connection to Axiotron is, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he would have invented the Axiotron himself to bug Jobs.

So I know there are reasons why Wozniak wouldn’t be a good choice to lead Apple; he’s kind of a shy person.  But for sure he can replace Jobs as the cult leader of Apple, and I believe he could be just as effective at Steve in communicating Apple’s message, even if he does it in his own way.

Do you want to see Woz doing more at Apple?  If he did have a more active role, I’m sure he could bring the stock price up!
