American Election

by Brian on 11/3/2008

The american election show begins tomorrow. It does seem pretty exciting eh? Will Barack win? Will there be some kind of voting abnormality and Jack Layton will become the next president? Well, I’m sure Barack could come over here and become leader of the NDP, no doubt they would be the governing party. I say he would join the NDP because who would want to join the Liberal Party when they are going bankrupt?

Anyway, Don Miller wrote a great article about his experience growing up in conservative america. Maybe I’m too Canadian to understand, but if I were a young american voter, I wouldn’t want the political way of thinking of the past force upon me. It’s not all bad, it’s not all good, and that’s the thing, there’s a lot of questions to ask.

If I were a voter, I could not say that I came to a solid logical conclusion as to who to vote for, a sound rational explanation of my vote. But I must say after the months of listening to news reports, and reading blog posts, I am quite curious what would become of a Barack america, and a Barack world. Excited, enthusiastic, curious…

  • Thanks for that link from Don Miller's blog. It was great. I could empathize completely... funny how many people I run into with similar stories.

Yes, tomorrow... or should I say later today... will be interesting. I, for one, just want the fear and pettiness and slander to be done with.
