One of the biggest challenges with UML is trying to find the right modelling tool that does exactly what you need it to do. At school we usually ended up using several different tools to construct UML diagrams, depending on what kind of diagram we needed, or what the specifics of the question. So I was pleased to hear about the anoucement of the UML plugin for NetBeans 5.5. Some screenshots and animations can be found on the NetBeans website.
I guess with the work being done on the upcoming Ruby plugin, and the additional UML support, I’m becoming bit more of a NetBeans fan. But I’m still not quite as experienced with either platform to really say, which is better.
