Clean Up at Trowbridge @ 2pm on Sunday, August 6th

Garbage at Trowbridge

The day before Nathan preached about being stewards of the world God created, Megan and I went to Trowbridge Falls Park. When we got to our favourite place to waddle in the water, we noticed that the place was covered in garbage. It was rather disgusting, and the garbage that littered the river ranged from beer cans to baby crackers. Megan and I have noticed that God has a way of communicating to us by putting us in situations that will somehow be connected to a sermon the next day. This has been happening to us consistently for the past year.

So, after hearing Nathan’s sermon we’ve decided to organize a cleanup at Trowbridge, for Sunday, August 6th at 2pm. We will provide garbage bags so just show up. Also, remember there is a river there, and water which tends to be very warm… so you might want to consider the hint I’m dropping. Everyone is welcome to come.

It’s interesting how the best things in life, God has given us for free. And we as his people tend to neglect that fact.

Kudos on responding to a need in your environment. Just this summer, I have been exploring what it means to invest in the restoration and maintenance of our surroundings. We tend to think big activism, but sometimes it is more like a simple state of heart that says “it shouldn’t be this way.”
