I was thinking about this summer and comparing it to last summer:
- On Tuesday I drove Suzie to the Tuesday night discussion group at Redwood. It reminded me of the time I first put Pride and Prejudice between the front seats of the van, and when we bought Persians for Nikki.
- In August I’m planning on spending a week at Wild Wood Bible Camp. Last year it didn’t work out due to lack of interest, but this year somehow I feel like it’s going to happen.
- I’m reading a lot. I’m reading through The Ragamuffin Gospel, and The Barbarian Way. Also, I’m going through some books in the bible. I’m doing things that will edify and build up my teaching gift. This also includes writing and storytelling. I remember back in high school, a kind of mentor of mine prayed that my writing and storytelling would somehow be used for to build-up the Kingdom of God. I wasn’t sure exactly how it could be used then, but now I’m starting to see its purpose.
- I’m working in the same office, mostly by myself. Although I’ve noticed things seem a little busier this year because I’m connected to a lot more people in the company. I find myself talking to various people on the phone more often now. And I’m even talking to customers a lot more.
- I’ve been listening to more music, and podcasts. The iPod was a good investment.
- The Holy Spirit is very much alive in me. I’m getting a better understanding of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
