Blogging Catch Up

by Brian on 3/16/2005

Before I start my statistics homework I thought I should catch up on some blogging. Last week I had two case studies to hand in, a linear algebra assignment, and a object oriented programming assignment. The business assignments were kind of crazy, and involved a lot of research. This weekend I spent a lot of time hanging out, which probably didn’t help the homework situation as much, but I tried my best to get as much work done in between.

Speaking of a new chapter in life, last week opened up another page, one that I wasn’t really expecting. I have a girlfriend now, and I’m dating. Well, I should say that I’m a boyfriend now and I’m dating an awesome girl (see my previous post). Nikki is great, and we both seem right for each other. It wasn’t really something that either of us were planning, I guess God just kind of brought us together. I’ve now joined the rush of people starting relationships.

We’re going to have quite the time together, I mean, she’s my first real girlfriend. I will have a lot to learn. I think one thing might be, although it hasn’t really been bad, is not to worry about the kind of impression I’m making, but instead to just think more about her, and what she needs. I caught myself doing that this morning in my mind. I think what can trigger it is when I’m with a larger group of people in a smaller area–it came very apparent to me on Monday night when I was at Christine’s Hawaiian birthday party. When I got there I was very caught in my own thoughts, I was distracted by school work, where I should have parked… simple stuff really, but I just found it hard to be sociable. But Nikki didn’t seem to care. And she sat next to me, cuddled me… As people started to leave, and there were fewer people in the room, I started to open up. It’s great to have someone who you can just be yourself around, and I’m almost entirely certain that she likes who I am.

I know I like who she is.

And God… thank you.
