Math Headache

by Brian on 2/4/2005

I have a bit of a math headache right now from working on stats homework. A lot of it is hard to grasp, but I’m trying my best. I’m pretty sure that 80%-90% of it is correct with a P value of .05. I feel almost as frustrated as Spongebob Squarepants when he forgot how to tie his shoes.

I’ll make a quick comment about the poem I previously posted. The poem is actually a song. The reason I posted it was because that night I was in the mood to listen to it. I believe the song is adapted from a book written by a catholic monk, and it describes our relationship with God–leaving your room, and everything you have behind to go on a journey to your lover. One day I’ll read the book.

I enjoyed the emerging culture talk yesterday. Although there was a little gap in the middle that I didn’t completely get. It was somewhere around the point about, “using morals as a smokescreen.” I know that none of this will make sense to the people reading my blog, but the reason I’m blogging this is so that I’ll remember it later.

Here’s a quick thought that popped into my head. No matter how you choose to communicate the message of the gospel to others, it does not change the fact that Jesus is real, and the holy spirit is fully capable, well ultimately unstoppable, at working in the lives of you and me. Part of my intuition wants me to feel that when I create a method of communicating the gospel to others, the gospel suddenly becomes just a synthetic message. Where in reality, Dark Night of the Soul (the poem/song I posted earlier), is a better description of the reality of life.

Wow… I’m sure this blog entry and all my blog entries will make one good analysis through the post modern lens. I’m slowly starting to grasp conceptual stuff.
