Energy

Well, here I am sitting in the ATAC building before sunrise. I beat the sun to work today. This is the first time this year that I’ve been to school this early. Usually I wake up in the mornings and don’t have much drive to get out of bed right away. By the time I’m all ready and get to school I am usually about five minutes late for class if I have an 8:30 class—which is not really a big deal in university. About the only days that I actually do get up early are Sundays. Today I’m about twenty minutes early.

So why do I have so much energy this morning? It’s relational energy, and it’s powerful stuff. It’s the energy you get from loving someone, and then without suspecting it, they love you back.

I would probably have a lot more of this energy if I was less selfish in relationships; if instead of wanting, I was more giving.
