Suzie made a comment about how people could get to know you by your blogging, and that most people aren’t perfect bloggers. It’s a scary concept. But what I’ve found to be even scarier is the search feature on my blog. For instance, I can do a search on a keyword like stress, and find everything that I’ve ever wrote about stress.
It’s a scary way of getting to know myself.
From a computer science perspective, I find that searching is a really powerful thing, and is something that is becoming more and more popular in information management. For instance, Apple is integrating search into their next operating system, where basically you can search all the information on your hard drive: emails, word documents, programmes, meta data in music, etc. It’s a new way of computing, because now my hard drive is becoming a record of my life, a warehouse of information that is my life.
